Lunchtime Workshop & Club Competition

We had a lovely start to our year with our Soup and Workshop day. The idea behind the workshop was to encourage our members to take part in the various floral arrangement competitions held throughout the year. Three of our members gave demonstrations and helpful hints on how to interpret competition schedules.  Our title for the day was “Sayings”. A petite design entitled “Time for Tea” was demonstrated by  Caroline Barnes and a teacup had to be incorporated. The second design was an Exhibit entitle “A Winter Wonderland” and was demonstrated by Pauline Squirrel and the third design was a foam free Exhibit entitled “What a Tangled Web We Weave” which was demonstrated by Vicki Hease.` We all enjoyed the demonstrations and were able to ask questions about competition work.
Following this we all sat down for lunch with some delicious soup made by various members, and then it was our turn to have a go!
“Time for Tea” was won by Carolyn Rudd who received the Chelsworth Cup, Ann Brunker won “A Winter Wonderland” and Helen Allum won the foam free exhibit ” What a Tangled Web We Weave” and received the Croxton Rose Bowl. Congratulations to all the winners and very well done to everyone who took part.
